Overview

Aimed at schools who are in the early stages of their teaching for mastery journey, our Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics in Early Years Work Groups will help schools to develop their understanding of how young children learn mathematics and what they need to learn in order to build secure foundations.

Involving four CPD sessions spread across the year, participants will share outcomes within small groups and within their school teams.

We are offering 2 complimentary pathways in this academic year, which build the subject knowledge needed to move on to our research Work Group project: Building Firm Foundations from EY to KS1.

PLEASE NOTE: Each pathway is open to one participating teacher per school, however schools are welcome to book one teacher onto each pathway. Schools who take part in the project should send an EYFS teacher who wants to develop their subject knowledge.
