WEBINAR: Supporting Remote Learning in Maths in the Early Years
Thursday 15 October
16:00 to 17:00
Would you like to know more about how to support remote learning in an early years setting?
This webinar offers practical and first-hand examples of remote learning opportunities for our youngest children. During these unprecedented times it is important that we are meeting the needs of all pupils and supporting children in their first year of primary education. We will be sharing tried and tested online tools and project-based learning opportunities as a way of engaging children with maths in the home and outdoors. We will also consider some of the new early years guidance and research as it begins to shape our classrooms and environments; identifying key points and useful “take-aways” from these.
Some key questions we will cover:
- How do we teach a 4 year old remotely? What could we do? Where could we turn to for support?
- How do we support children with very little previous early years experience?
- What can we take from the new DFE documents and pilot Early Learning Goals to inform practice?
- What does recent research teach us about how we can improve mathematical learning and experiences both in the classroom and in the wider world.
This webinar will be led by Jade Clifford, Assistant Maths Hub Lead (EYFS). She will be supported by EYFS colleagues and the wider maths hub team. There will be an opportunity for Q & A within the session.
