WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE HUB?

We run many different Work Groups for teachers, teaching assistants and maths leaders, across all phases of education. Each of our projects is led by an expert, with participants contributing to and learning from the Work Group.

    This is a new programme to support teaching assistants develop the specialist knowledge for working within the maths classroom. This programme will run online over 4 sessions.

    This programme supports non-specialist teachers in developing the specialist knowledge (the blend of subject knowledge and pedagogical knowledge) for teaching maths. This programme will run over 6 sessions, which can be blended with some sessions run face-to-face and some online.

    The intended participants are those who teach and/or have responsibility for the curriculum in Years 5-8. Participants may be subject leaders or teachers with responsibility for transition in a school. Several groups will run across Sussex. Equivalent of approx. 3 days with tasks between sessions.

    For teachers whose students will study Level 2 maths across secondary and post-16 to develop ways to support students who need to study maths beyond age 16 to achieve a L2 qualification. Three full - days workshops held at an FE college tbc.

    This programme is for teachers who are in the first two years of teaching Core Maths and are teaching a Core Maths class during the academic year 2023/24. This programme consists of 6 online twilight sessions between November and May.
