About the Event

What is Involved

This new for 25/26 national Research and Innovation Work Group (RIWG) offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of exploring how AI can support teaching for mastery approaches. Participants will work collaboratively to investigate: how can teachers use AI effectively to design mastery-aligned materials for the classroom.

The group will trial ways of improving prompts and using AI tools to create and adapt high-quality classroom resources. The Work Group will go beyond exploring confidence-building or time-saving; instead the focus will be on quality assurance of AI generated materials.

Participants will evaluate the alignment of these materials with mastery principles and the embedding of AI into classroom resource design.

Who can take part?

This national Work Group will take place online, brining together secondary teachers form across the country.

To take part, teachers must have a strong understanding of teaching for mastery.

We are ideally seeking Mastery Specialists, but welcome applications from teachers with experience in teaching for mastery, on a case-by-case basis. This new Work group offers a great opportunity for currently inactive Mastery Specialists to re-engage with Hub activity.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A NATIONALLY RUN NCETM LED RESEARCH AND INNOVATION GROUP. By registering with us, you are asking us to submit your interest in the programme to the NCETM. All communications about this Work Group will come directly from the NCETM, rather than Sussex Maths Hub.

Spaces are limited to 2 per hub - registration does not guarantee you a place on the programme.
